Liam Coo is a media artist, photographer, videographer, graphic and web designer, based in Toronto. He has worked in a variety of positions including: freelance designer, studio technician, commissioned artist, and chef. He recently assumed the role of Media Coordinator at Jumblies where he manages the design of graphic and web elements along with creating and managing of video and photographic documentation. His private practice includes doing all of these things and more for other creative individuals and enterprises. As an artist, his work has been exhibited in galleries and festivals in Toronto and Montreal in both group and solo shows.
Liam Coo makes art that combines analogue and digital photographic process creating hybrid methods that act as a creative processes for the plethora of themes he explores in his series. In addition to photography his artistic practice embraces animation, design, graphics, coding, video, and writing. Focusing on theories from media studies and the societal effects of technology, especially digital innovations and developments, his images attempt to expand on the existing conversations.
